Our purpose is to provide a training environment where athletes can develop into the finest athletes possible. Each of our workouts is specifically designed to train strength, speed and power. Athletes following the program have consistently and repeatedly seen gains in their lifting maxes and speed.
We expect every RHS Football Player not out for a sport that particular season to be in the RHS Speed & Strength Program. The RHS Speed & Strength Program was developed to train high school football players. Although fitness centers have a purpose, they lack the coaching or specific training provided at the RHS Speed & Strength Program. The program provides additional benefits that have proven to benefit the RHS Football Team. It allows players to work and train with teammates, develop camaraderie, promotes competition and creates a committed relationship to the team. This bond inevitably pays dividends later in athletic competition.

RHS Speed & Strength Lettering Criteria
-
All RHS students are eligible to earn a Speed & Strength Letter.
-
Athletes must have 90% attendance during the Winter, Spring or Summer Speed & Strength seasons to earn a letter. (Athletes can earn letters in multiple seasons.)
-
100% Attendance = 4/5 days during each full week of school and everyday of a shortened school week during that sport season.
-
Athletes must participate in the Winter (Mississippi 8) or Spring (ISD #728) lifting competition to be eligible to earn a letter during those seasons.
-
Athletes enrolled in a Physical Education Strength Class are eligible to letter, but cannot count their class participation towards lettering attendance. These athletes can use their strength class lifting program and complete unfinished lifts after school to earn their attendance for that day.
-
Athletes hoping to letter are responsible for checking out daily with a Speed & Strength Coach to earn credit for their attendance.
-
Athletes must follow weight room rules to earn credit for each given day, specifically they must participate in the warm-up and follow a written weight lifting program.
-
Any lettering situation or criteria not covered will be left to the discretion of the Speed & Strength Coaching Staff.
Attendance is updated and posted weekly, lifters should check it regularly to help correct any discrepancies immediately. If a lifter feels they have earned a Speed & Strength Letter and did not receive one, please talk to Coach LaPointe or Coach Franz.
