Marc Franz - Head Coach  Marc Franz is entering his 9th year as the head football coach at Rogers High School. He is a 1987 graduate of Falls High School in International Falls where he lettered in football, basketball and track. Marc went on to play football for the St. Cloud State Huskies. He graduated Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University in 1992 with a B.S. in mathematics education. In 1999, he earned a M.S. in educational administration with an emphasis in athletic administration. Marc has taught math and coached football, as well as basketball and track, in ISD 728 over the past 20 years. This year he will be teaching Algebra II at Rogers High School. Marc lives in Otsego with his wife Lorrie and two sons Collin and Nathan.

Mick Goudy - Offensive Coordinator & QB's Mick Goudy is beginning his 6th season as Offensive Coordinator for the RHS Football Team. Mick is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in 1971. In 1985, he earned his Masters degree from St. Cloud Statue University. Mick taught at Fertile-Beltrami High School and was Head Football Coach for 5 years. In 1982, Mick began teaching and coaching at Monticello High School. He was the Head Football Coach in Monticello from 1982-89 and an assistant coach since 1995. In 2004, Mick was a recipient of the Butch Nash Award for assistant coaches in the State of Minnesota. During June of 2005, Mick was an assistant coach for the Metro Team in the Minnesota State High School All-Star Football Game. In 2010, Mick was named Minnesota Assistant Football Coach of the Year. Mick lives in Monticello with his wife, Cheryl. Mick and Cheryl have 3 sons; Bryan, Jeff, and Todd.

Ryan LaPointe -Sophomore Coach & RB's    Ryan LaPointe - Sophomore Coach & RB's  Ryan is entering his seventh season of coaching football at Rogers High School. He is a 2000 graduate of Elk River High School where he was a three-year letter winner in football. Ryan served as a team captain during his senior season while leading the Elks in rushing yards and gaining all-conference honors. He went on to play college football at St. Cloud State University, where he graduated in 2005 with degrees in Physical Education and Developmental/Adapted Physical Education. Ryan also earned a Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University of MN in 2009. This will be his sixth year teaching Physical Education at Rogers Middle School. Ryan is married to his wonderful wife Cristina, is the son of Emery and Kathleen LaPointe, with brothers Kyle and Aaron.

Rob Lehman - Receivers & DB's He is a graduate of Elmwood H.S ,WI 1997. Three year letter winner in football and basketball, team captain in football his senior year. Junior/Senior All Conference Cornerback. Senior all conference wide receiver. Senior All Northwest Wide Receiver and Corner Back. Rob is a Chippewa Valley Tech College Grad 2000 Machine Tool. UW Stout Grad Tech Ed 2003. He currently teaches Metal Tech and Photography at RHS.

  Mick Zeman - Sophmore Coach & DL Mike Zeman is joining the staff at Rogers High School from Albert Lea High School where he was Defensive Coordinator for the past 3 seasons. Mike is a 1995 graduate of Albert Lea High School where he was an eight-time letter winner in football, basketball, and track. Mike continued competing for Lawrence University where he was a four- time letter winner in football, indoor track, and outdoor track. He graduated magna cum laude from Minnesota State University- Mankato with a BS in English and Speech in 2008.

Ryan Donnay - 9th Grade OL & DL 9th Grade OL & DL returns for his 9th season coaching with the Royals. Coach Donnay is in his 6th season as the 9th grade offensive/defensive line coach. Ryan is a 1998 graduate of Elk River Area High School where he was a two sport captain and earned All-Conference honors his junior and senior years in both wrestling and football. He graduated from Hamline University in 2002 with a B.A. in Secondary Social Studies Education. While at Hamline, Ryan was a 4-year letter winner on the Pipers football team. In 2008, Ryan earned his M.S. in Education from Saint Mary's University. Ryan currently teaches 9th grade American History & 11th World History at RHS. Ryan and his wife Sara reside in Elk River with their daughter Reese (4 ½ ) and son Cade (16 months).

Matt Webb - Defensive Coordinator & DB's  He graduated from Elk River High School in 2001 where he played football, basketball and track. Matt was an All-Conference safety for the Elks. He graduated Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University in 2005 with a B.S. in mathematics education. This will be Matt's 6th year teaching Math at Rogers High School and 7th year coaching. He is also the boys head track coach in the spring. When not coaching Matt enjoys fishing, four wheeling, hunting and watching the Twins. Matt is married to his high school sweetheart Chelsea. The two currently reside in Otsego.
 

Jeremy Hood - JV Coach & DL  He graduated from Monticello High School in 2000. He also attended St. John’s Univ. where he started as a Defensive end/outside linebacker.

He graduated May 2004 with a Social Science/Secondary Education BA and will be teaching U.S. History and World History. He is married to his beautiful wife Abbie and last October welcomed an amazing addition to their famiy, son Connor. They currently reside in Elk River.


Ken Worel - JV Coach & OL

Coach Worel has been coaching the offensive line at Rogers since 2006. Prior to Rogers, Ken spent 4 years coaching lineman at his high school alma mater, Cooper High School, where he lettered in football and basketball. Coach Worel went on to St. Cloud State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Science Education with emphasis in Life Science. In 2009, Ken received his Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University. This year Ken will be teaching Wildlife Biology and Forensic Science at RHS. Ken lives in Otsego with his wife Peggy and 2 daughters, Lilly and Kelsey.

  Matt Houselog - Assistant 9th Coach   Matt graduated from Monticello School in 2001 where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University in 2005 with a B.S. in mass communications and film studies. In 2010, he completed the language arts program at SCSU. This is Matt's first year teaching 8th Grade English at Rogers Middle School. When not coaching Matt enjoys spending time with his nieces and nephews, watching movies, and following the Twins. Matt and his wife Stephanie are expecting their first child in November and just bought a house in Golden Valley.

  Bert Sepulveda - JV OL Coach   This will be Coach Bert Sepulveda’s second go around with the Royals after coaching from 2003-2007. Coach Sepulveda graduated from McAllen High School in McAllen, Texas in 1981 where he played football, basketball and track. Bert graduated from Crown College in 1988 where he played football and baseball and coached football and baseball from 1990-91 and 1994. Bert’s other coaching experience: Freshman line coach at Elk River High School 2008; Offensive line coach at St. Francis High School from 1997-2000; Head coach Highmore High School in South Dakota from 1992-93. Bert also attended Alliance Theological Seminary and is presently the Sr. Pastor at Connect Church in St. Michael, MN. He is married to Kristen and they have 5 children; Joshua, Maren, Caleb, Grace and Rachel.
nbsp; Jeff Petersen - JV Coach and Linebackers   Jeff is starting his fourth year as a member of the Roger’s coaching staff. Prior to Rogers, he coached for four years at his alma mater, Cooper High School . He graduated from Cooper HS in 1979 where he played on the 1977 and 1978 Lake Conference Championship teams. Coach Petersen then attended St. Olaf College where he was a three year starter and played on the 1980 MIAC Conference Championship team. He graduated in 1983 with academic distinction and a BS in Economics and Finance. He is an agency owner with American Family Insurance located in Maple Grove. He lives in Plymouth with his wife Leslie and three children-Noah, Brier and Kahler.
